A Life of Service

Patricia Beall Gruits, the Founder of RHEMA International and RHEMA International Ministries passed peacefully on June 15th following a brief hospital stay.  The only daughter of Latter Rain icon Myrtle D. Beall, she was actively involved in every aspect of her mother's church - Bethesda Missionary Temple in Detroit.  This magnificent church is now Perfecting Church, led by Pastor Marvin L. Winans, who graciously opened the doors for a beautiful funeral service.  In addition to Pastor Winans, presenters included Rev. Barney Odoerfer of Covenant Christian Church, Rev. Patrick McDonald of Word of Life Fellowship Church, Rev. Charles Green and Rev. Barbara Yoder of Shekinah Church.

Sister Pat (as she was fondly called) began her education career with children's catechism classes at BMT.  In just a few years her classes swelled to standing-room capacity, drawing adults and many other pastors, all eager to study under such a dynamic and anointed instructor.  From these classes came the book "Understanding God and His Covenants" (now "Understanding God").  Three more books would follow, each providing needed answers to her many students.  The last book "Understanding the Winds of God" was completed and published in December,  and is available at www.rhemalifeline.org.

In addition to her devotion to teaching, Sister Pat had a Divine calling to build a hospital in Haiti.  She never wavered from that ministry, despite ofttimes crushing opposition and her own lack of medical or building knowledge.  Beginning with a staggering mortality rate of 65%, to date thousands of babies have been safely delivered there and the hospital has a 0% mortality rate!  Children receive regular well-child visits and needed vaccinations.  Her successor, son Harry L B Gruits manages RHEMA today.  He has expanded the ministry to include a massive food distribution program and a dental clinic, (much to the expressed delight of Sister Pat).

To live 96 years is, by itself, an impressive feat.  However, to accomplish all of this in only 96 years is a true sign of an anointed life.  She loved people, all people, and took great joy in the everyday miracles all around us.  Her legacy will live on through those whose lives are forever changed by knowing her, meeting her or reading one of her books.

"The likes of Sister Pat will never walk amongst us again."

About Us

Our History

image19

Obediently answering God's call for her to build a hospital in Haiti, Patricia Beall Gruits did not allow her lack of direct knowledge to get in the way.  She built a strong team of volunteers, all committed to this one goal.  We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!

Our Mission

Feeding 4,000 orphans every day. All families visiting the hospital receive food packets for home.

Our original mission still holds today.  We continue to operate our hospital, effectively reducing the horrifying former mortality rate of 65% to a new and sustainable rate of 0%!!!  Our partners and volunteers provide the momentum that helps us affect that change, not only in Haiti, but also here in the U.S. We provide daily solutions that make a long-lasting difference.

Our Team

Teams of volunteers come to do needed repairs to the hospital and are blessed by their service.

Our amazing team of volunteers are committed to helping others. We take our convictions and turn them into action.  We have multiple groups giving of their time to improve the lives of those less fortunate.  Think you would be a good fit?  See our form below for more information!
